Playstation Home Xi: Alternate Reality Game
by Pariah on Mar.24, 2009, under Gaming
Yesterday an alternate reality game was launched in Playstation Home. Anyone with a PS3 and access to Home (internet connection) can play. The game starts by looking around home for the strange graffiti, which is located if I remember correctly right to the right of your condo/apt. entrance.
The symbol is hard to make and looks more like a black sprayed circle on the wall, to me it did anyways, could just be my screen. Clicking X on this brings you into the ‘hub’, after a short download of course. As you enter the ‘hub’ you are informed it was the early alpha tester zone and you are not supposed to be there by the narrator and shortly thereafter you learn that strange things are going on. From what I have read at Kotaku, and Playstation Blog, the game will be ever changing, gaining new content and areas on a weekly to monthly basis which sounds pretty cool to me. At least it makes me want to go back into home and possibly even spend a little loot to change my avatar’s looks since people will be seeing him. Just a few minutes I go I finished playing the “game” myself and have to admit it is amusing and has the potential to be pretty damn good. Your first task is to simply search the area for some pieces of paper for the narrator, once found you need to access a website from one of the consoles in the area and solve a puzzle which grants you a code to enter, the code then gives you a piece of a puzzle or map, not sure yet. You can also get another puzzle to do from a robot known as the “Stapler” who is near the first piece of paper you found, his puzzle are a bit harder to solve. To start his you need to do the clap action at a certain area to get the actual question and hint, then scour the web again. These sites you are using for the puzzles are actual websites and not just in game (this is the actual site you use to solve the Stapler’s puzzle “http://cafeconmiguel.wordpress.com/”). All in all this seems like it could be a great idea on Sony’s part, an interactive alternate reality “mystery” game to keep people drawn to Playstation Home. If you have a PS3 I’d recommend you at least check it out.

by Pariah on Mar.23, 2009, under Gaming, Serious
Parents need not worry unless their kids are tech savvy, the Kama Sutra for the DS known as the SutraDS is a homebrew application that can be brought to a DS Flash cart and played, so no buying in stores and no Nintendo seal of approval on this product. From what I’ve read this was written as an entry for an annual homebrew coding contest. This versiom has a total of 37 sexual positions. The translations in the game are also supposed to be rather amusing since the coders native language isn’t english. The following is content is straight from the contest entry upload:

Awesome controller charger for Wii, 360, and PS3
by Pariah on Mar.05, 2009, under Gaming
I was at best buy the other night picking up a laptop and while I was telling my fiancee about how the ps3 had the greatest controller charger since it plugged into the wall instead of a usb port (long story short 2 days before it was announced I was complaining to a friend how one was needed hence the greatness) and in the ps3 section I stumbled upon the greatest charging mechanism for any gamer, this fancy contraption:

it’s called the psyclone touchcharge, it retails for about $50 to $60 depending on where you go to purchase it, different stores and online stores and what not, anyways, the thing that makes this so amazing is you plug it in and place it somewhere, then when you controller need’s to be charged you set the controller on it and it charges (with the attachment attached to the controller of course, the pins make contact with the surface) but what makes this even better is you can get the adapter piece for the Wii, 360, and PS3 and charge all the controllers on the one charging station, on the package they show that you can fit if placed right 1 of each systems controllers at the same time, here’s some more images:

it looks really cool and I’m planning on snagging one at some point

today i sat down to finally play this game, i’ve had it for quite some time, now i have played it a bit before and really enjoyed the game but at that time i was oblivious to the deviancy hidden within, so last night while playing Soul Calibur IV with a friend he mentioned how Uncharted had a patch for trophy support and i fgured hell, what better time to play it again and beat it this time, so i erased all the previous game info, put it in, update and started playing, all the while not understanding why i never played it more before because its a great game, turns out it was probably some kind of sixth sense making me avoid the game, but alas it’s too late now, i’ve discovered the unfortunate homo-eroticism hidden within the game, first of all you have two guys gallavanting through the jungle together, lukcily though when i noticed this part it was a guy and a girl, thank the gods, or else my ps3 may have exploded due to the gayness of it all, anyways, here is what i noticed:

not the greatest quality since i took the picture with my digital, but it’s clearly visible, the door is covered in penis’s, seriously disturbing, and here’s the full color image
